About the
Mike Parks Bobblehead
The Mike Parks Bobblehead was unveiled on Wednesday night, December 5, 2007 as a
tribute to our illustrious leader on his 50th birthday (click
here for video). We could think of
no better way to honor Mike than to forever immortalize his likeness in resin
(complete with Chinese, lead-based paint). Similar to a Hank Aaron
autographed Louisville Slugger bat or a Satchel Paige autographed baseball,
future generations will look at the Bobblehead doll with reverence and
realize Mike's legacy, "No matter what you look like, God is good, all the
time".The Bobblehead dolls may be purchased for $15.00 each at the
Green
Acres Worship Ministry Office (Mon-Fri, 9am-3pm). In addition,
Choir/Orchestra members may purchase the Bobbleheads prior to Wednesday evening
rehearsals. $10.00 of each purchase will be credited to a Choir/Orchestra
member's 2008 NYC trip balance (may be designated for specific members) .
As attractive as it is, our goal is not to have the Mike Parks Bobblehead
just adorn your shelves. We would like the Mike Parks Bobblehead to travel
the world.... and we would like the pictures to prove all of the places it has
been. We'll keep your submissions anonymous (if you prefer) but we would
like to share the photos with everyone. Please visit the "Contact
Us" page for details on submitting photos.
It must be noted that the Celebration Choir President, Phil Burks, deserves
all the blame credit for the concept and creation of the Bobblehead. We thank him for
his tireless efforts. In addition, we would like to thank all the
third-world children that worked diligently in the sweatshops to ensure we
received our shipment in a timely manner.
